Guys,
First of all I would like to say thank you for your interest to participate in my online focus group (OFG) sessions. Before we proceed it would be helpful for you to read through and get some ideas on what my research is about, what is OFG (the data collection approach), why i use OFG, how these OFG sessions will be administered and discussions on few ethical issues.
My research is about...
Online community (OC) can sustain its long term success through member’s willingness to stay and continue using an OC. Within OC, continuous usage behaviour is closely related to knowledge sharing activity. However there is a limited understanding on the factors that influence continuous knowledge contribution using OC especially from motivational perspective. Therefore, this study adopts a motivational approach towards understanding the factors that may influence individual’s satisfaction and continuous knowledge contribution intention. This study is grounded using Expectation-Confirmation Theory. Meanwhile, Expectancy-Value Model of achievement and Technology Acceptance Model are used as the antecedents to explain user’s feeling of satisfaction using business online communities that will lead to continuous knowledge contribution.

What is OFG & Why I use OFG...
OFG is a qualitative tool use to help researcher generate new ideas for quantitative research. For instance, the responses from OFG participants can be used to ensure the researcher includes the needed items that may be ignored during literature analyses.
My study chooses OFG over traditional FG (face to face approach) because: 1) online community (OC) members are dispersed geographically around the world, thus to conduct a traditional FG session is costly, and 2) OFG provide an excellent platform to capture information from places and people that is not reachable in other way (Oringderff, 2004).

There will be no time restriction when you can participate in each of the session (However, you are still bounded by the ONE week time frame). You are free to engage in the discussion at anytime you feel convenient to do so.
Within the discussion you are free to discuss issues related to continuous knowledge contribution intention using business online community. No questions will be directed to you individually, but instead will be posted to the group. As a token of appreciation, participants who have completed the OFG sessions will be given a $20 gift voucher.
